George William WILLIAMS
HUSBAND:
[F30]. George William WILLIAMS. [PC C1].
Born 9 JAN 1871 at Toquerville, Washington County, Utah; son of George William Washington WILLIAMS [F60] and Lydia Powell FERRIN [F61].
He was baptized at Willard, Box Elder County, Utah in the Spring of 1874. In 1880 he went to Arizona, traveling by team from Willard, Utah to Taylor, near Snowflake, Arizona, a distance of about 1200 miles. Though only nine years old, he drove a team nearly the whole distance4. In 1884 they settled at Luna, New Mexico, but after a failure of crops because of frost, they moved to the Gila Valley in southern Arizona. They located at Pima, Arizona, where his father engaged in the brick and lime making business. (S4).
In MAY 1886 he and others were surprised by a band of Apache Indians. A skirmish ensued in which one of the party, Peter Franklin Thurston [F62], George's father-in-law, was killed. By taking to the hills the rest escaped with their lives {S4}.
He married Harriet THURSTON [F31] on 30 JUN 1889 at Pima, Graham County, Arizona.
In JUN 1892 they moved to Clifton, Greenlee County, Arizona. There he assisted in organizing a branch of the Church. He helped build a nice little brick meetinghouse there.
He and his wife were sealed at Salt Lake City on 10 AUG 1897.
He served a mission from 1898 to 1904.
In 1903 he succeeded Albert E. Blair as Presiding Elder of the Branch at Clifton. (S4).
He died 3 APR 1913 at St. Johns, Apache County, Arizona and was buried 6 APR 1913 at St. Johns, Apache County, Arizona.
WIFE:
[F31]. Harriet (Hattie) THURSTON. [PC C1].
Born on 14 SEP 1872 at Milton, Morgan County, Utah; daughter of Peter Franklin THURSTON [F62] and Mary Ann SPENDLOVE [F63].
She was baptized in 1880. About that same year she left the Morgan Valley with her family to fulfill a call from the church leaders to help settle the Gila Valley in Southern Arizona.
She married George William WILLIAMS [F30] on 30 JUN 1889 at Pima, Graham County, Arizona.
She died on 14 OCT 1945 at San Diego, San Diego County, California; and was buried 19 OCT 1945 at Pima, Graham County, Arizona.

- William Franklin WILLIAMS. Born (stillborn) 16 (18 ?) OCT 1889 at Pima, Graham County, Arizona.
- Hattie Josephine WILLIAMS. (Josephine). Born 22 JAN 1891 at Pima, Graham County, Arizona. She married 25 SEP 1912 to Milton McRAE. She was baptized in 1899. She died 31 MAY 1924.
- Cora WILLIAMS. Born 15 SEP 1892 at Pima, Graham County, Arizona. She was baptized 7 OCT 1900. She married 15 SEP or 7 OCT or 8 OCT in 1909 to Daniel Arthur KEMP.
- George Wallace WILLIAMS. (Wallace). Born 31 JUL 1894 at Pima, Graham County, Arizona. He was baptized 8 NOV 1903. He married 26 MAY 1926 to Verlina SCAGGS. He died 26 MAR 1964.
- [F15]. Minnie WILLIAMS [PC C1]. Born 25 DEC 1896 at Clifton, Greenlee County, Arizona. She married Clive Vernon TENNEY [F14] on 30 January 1918. She died 18 June 1981 at El Cajon, San Diego County, California.
- Jessie May (Mae) WILLIAMS. Born 31 OCT 1901 at Clifton, Greenlee County, Arizona. She was baptized 5 FEB 1910. She married (1) on 9 AUG 1917 to Frank RUSSELL. She married (2) 8 DEC 1935 to Charles F. BLISS. They were sealed 20 MAY 1941.
- Oran Adna WILLIAMS. Born 26 AUG 1903 at Clifton, Greenlee County, Arizona. He was baptized 21 OCT 1911. He married 29 MAY 1931 to Barbara GREEN. He died 17 MAY 1959.
- Joseph Bernard WILLIAMS. Born 12 OCT 1905 at Clifton, Greenlee County, Arizona. He was baptized 6 DEC 1913. He married 20 MAY 1929 to Ruth EYRING. He died 25 JUL 1957.
