William SARGENT

Born 20 JUN 1602 at Northampton, England, son of Roger SARGENT [F4424a] and Ellen MAKERNESS [F4425a]. He married Sarah [2213A]. He was an early settler of Barnstable, Massachusetts. Between 1653 when Reverend John Lothrop died, and 1662 when Reverend Thomas Walley was called as minister, William SARGENT and Reverend John Smith served as ministers in Barnstable. He died 16 DEC 1682 at Barnstable, Massachusetts.

She died 12 JAN 1689.

- [F1106a]. John SARGENT. Baptized 8 DEC 1639. He married (1) Deborah HILLIER. He married (2) Mary BENSE. He married (3) about 1700 Lydia CHIPMAN [F1107a]. They moved to Malden, Massachusetts. He died 9 SEP 1716 at Malden, Massachusetts.
- Ruth SARGENT. Born 25 OCT 1642 at Charlestown, Massachusetts. She married (1) Jonathan WINSLOW, son of Josiah WINSLOW of Marshfield. She married (2) Richard BOURNE [F3732] of Sandwich, Massachusetts, on 2 JUL 1677. She married (3) (Elder) John CHIPMAN [F2214a] in 1684. Her will is dated 7 DEC 1710. She died in 1713 in Sandwich, Massachusetts, aged 71 years. Her will was proved 8 OCT 1713. As she had no children living, she gave her estate to her relatives and friends. She names Bathsheba BOURNE, dau. of Mr. Melatiah BOURNE, and Jabez DIMMOCK, who are both grandchildren of John CHIPMAN [2214a].
