Born 31 January 1804 in What is presently Metcalfe County, Kentucky; son of Jesse HANDY [F96] and Elizabeth HALL [F97].

He married (1) Rosanna DALE [F49] on 1 February 1821. They were married by Manoah Lassley, Pastor of the Pleasant Ridge Meeting House in Adair County, Kentucky. They lived in Green County, Kentucky.
He married (2) Elvira H. BIRCH on 29 February 1850. They moved to Missouri probably not long after this second marriage.
He is in Kentucky in the 1870 census, so he moved to Missouri after this date. His son James Marion Handy had moved to Missouri earlier, so he probably moved to Missouri to join his son.
He died on 3 February 1881 at Cameron, Clinton County, Missouri, and is buried in the Packard Cemetery, in Block 2, in either lot 4 or lot 5.

Born 11 AUG 1806 in Barren County, Kentucky; daughter of Isaac DALE [F98] and Margaret FRAZIER [F99].
She married Robert A. HANDY [F48] on 1 FEB 1821. They were married by Manoah Lassley, Pastor of the Pleasant Ridge Meeting House in Adair County, Kentucky.
She died 10 JUL 1849, probably in Kentucky, though some sources say Missouri. Since her last child was born on 4 JUL 1849 in Green County, Kentucky, it is probable that she died there, probably of complications due to the birth.
WIFE (2) of Robert A. HANDY:
Elvira H. BIRCH.
She was born 10 SEP 1826 in Virginia or Kentucky. Note that her cemetery record says that she was born on 18 September 1823. She married Robert A. HANDY on 29 Feburary 1850 in Kentucky. She died on 20 September 1900, and was buried in the Packard Cemetery, Cameron, Clinton County, Missouri.

- Jesse HANDY. Born on 16 February 1822 in Green County, Kentucky. He died on 1 September 1823 in Green County, Kentucky.
- Isaac HANDY. Born on 16 August 1823 in Green County, Kentucky. He died on 24 September 1823 in Green County, Kentucky.
- Margurite HANDY. Born on 1 November 1824 in Green County, Kentucky. She died on 15 March 1825 in Green County, Kentucky.
- George N. HANDY. Born 15 January 1826 in Green County, Kentucky. He died on 21 July 1852.
- David R. (or W.)(D.W.-S6)(David Washington-S8) HANDY. Born on 25 November 1827 in Green County, Kentucky. He married Mary Jane PHILIPS (COOK-S6) on 21 March 1850. They lived in Kentucky until the year of 1865 when they moved to Daviess county, Missouri, settling on a farm three miles south of Salem. He remained on the farm three years, when he sold his farm and went into the mercantile business at Bancroft in this county. Here he remained about a year when he sold out and moved to Salem, buying out the store of his brother, R. W. Handy. He remained in business at Salem until 1879, when he sold out again, and since that time has been engaged in farming and raising and dealing in stock. He recently sold his farm of 500 acres adjoining the town of Salem for $9,000, and now thinks of resuming the mercantile business at the first favorable opportunity. Mr. Handy is now holding the office of trustee and treasurer of Salem township, to which office he was elected in April, 1881. He has been a member of the Baptist Church for twenty-two years. They have seven children living, as follows: Maggie, wife of J. I. Weldon of Salem; James B., Aaron, William F., Ida B., Olley and Charles M. One child, a boy, named John, died in 1858 at the age of one year. (S6). He died on 10 May 1907 in Coffey, Daviess, Missouri.
- Annie (Anna) HANDY. Born 19 OCT 1829 in Green County, Kentucky. She married William EVANS on 24 September 1849. She died 10 SEP 1858 or 16 APR 1860.
- Richard (A.)(M.)(R.W.?-s6) HANDY. Born 15 SEP 1831 in Green County, Kentucky. He is listed as Richard A. in the 1850 census. He married Nancy E. WELDON on 16 Dec 1852 in Hart County, Kentucky. D.W. Handy bought the store of this brother, R.W. Handy, in Salem, Missouri about 1869 or 1870. (S6).
- William Franklin HANDY. Born 1 APR 1833 in Green County or Barren County, Kentucky. He married 9 (15) FEB 1854 to Amanda J. RENFRO.
- John N. HANDY. Born 27 NOV 1834 in Green County, Kentucky. He died 7 JUN 1862.
- Joseph M. HANDY. Born 9 JUN 1836 in Green County or Barren County, Kentucky. He married in OCT 1856 to Mary F. BURCH. He is in Barreb County, Kentucky for the 1860 census. He was in Winston, Daviess, Missouri for the 1880 census. He died 9 JUN 1892.
- Elizabeth HANDY. Born 30 MAR 1838 in Green County or Barren County, Kentucky. She married 15 JAN 1854 to Thomas DUKE.
- Miles Jasper HANDY. Born 26 AUG 1839 in Hart County, Kentucky. In the 1850 census in Barren County, Kentucky, Miles is found in the family of Lenis and Ruthy Davis. In the 1860 census, Miles is hired out as a farmhand in Barren County, Kentucky, with not indication of parentage. He married (1) Lucy Agnes PEDIGO (b. 1844 Barren Co, KY- d. 9 AUG 1880 Collins, MO) in 1861; daughter of Elijah PEDIGO and Frances HARPER. Miles married (2) Charlotte Temple Francis about 1885. Miles abandoned the 7 living children of Lucy Agnes when he remarried. He was living in Collins, Saint Clair, Missouri in the 1880 census. He died after 1894 in Humansville, Polk Co, Missouri. NOTE: Miles Jasper Handy may be the nephew of Robert A. Handy rather than his son.
- [F24]. James Marion HANDY. [PC C1]. Born 16 MAR 1840 at Jameson, Green County, Kentucky. He married Sarah M. STOVALL on 22 February 1866. He died about 1911 at Phillipsburg, Phillips County, Kansas.
- Clayborne G. (D.) HANDY. Born 2 FEB 1842 in Green County, Kentucky. Is this Mansfield? Mansfield is listed in the 1850 census, but Claiborn is listed the the family of John W. Handy, Robert A's brother. The Census record lists another child, Mansfield who was born about 1842 in Kentucky, living in the household. I do not know if this is another child of this family, a slave, or some other relative. He died in 1862 (In the Civil War perhaps?)
- Robert A. HANDY. (Robert Albert?) Born 26 AUG 1841 (1844) in Green County, Kentucky. From the 1850 census, the birth year of 1844 appears to be correct. He died about 1930.
- Thomas HANDY. Born 18 OCT 1846 in Green County, Kentucky. He died 18 OCT 1846.
- Amanda Francis HANDY. Born 4 JUN 1849 in Green County, Kentucky. She died 15 AUG 1849.

- Manerva Belle HANDY. Born 1 AUG 1852 in Kentucky. She married __?__ STEVENS. The were divorced.
