Gerard de GOURNAY and Editha de Warren

HUSBAND:
Gerard de GOURNAY. (Gerand)(Geraud)(Gournai)(Seigneur de Gournay-en-Bray).
Born (1060-S4)(in 1072)(before 1082) at Gournay, Normandy; France; son of Hugh de GOURNAY (Hugh III) and Basita FLAITEL.
He fought in the Battles of Mortimer and Hastings with his father.

He married Editha de WARENNE. He and his wife participated in the First Crusade but he died before the capture of Jerusalem. He died in 1098 while on pilgrimage (Crusade) to the Holy Land.

WIFE:
Editha de WARENNE. (Ediva)(Edith-S4)(Warren)(Warene-S4).
Born in 1076 in Surrey, Sussex, England; daughter of William de WARENNE (William I) and Princess Gundred.

She married (1) Gerard de GOURNAY. Guillaume de Jumièges names "Edith sœur de Guillaume comte de Warenne" and her husband Hugues de Gournay, recording that they left for Jerusalem together. After her husband's death en route she married (2) Drogon de Mouchy (DREUX de Monceaux)(Mouchy-le-Châtel). He was a knight in the First Crusade. He was punished for blasphemy by Wulfric of Haselbury. She died after 1155 AD.

  3. Gondree (Gundred)(Gundreda). Born about 1087 AD {S4}. She married Neil d’Albini. (Nele D'AUBIGNY-S4), and they were the parents of Roger de Mowbray.
