Peter Mack ELLIOTT
HUSBAND:
[F34]. Peter Mack ELLIOTT. [PC M3]
Born 5 APR 1833 at Willoughby, Lake County, Ohio; son of David ELLIOTT [F68] and Mary CAHOON [F69]. His death records in Spanish Fork say he was born in 1835, but this is apparently in error.
He was baptized about 1842, probably in Nauvoo, Illinois. He was just over 20 years old when their family arrived in Salt Lake City, Utah on 15 JUL 1853.
He married (1) Adeline Clarinda CURTIS, daughter of Charlotte ALVORD and Lyman CURTIS, on 1 FEB 1857 at Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah. One the same day he married (2) her mother, Charlotte Alvord [F35]. At this time there were many widows in the Salt Lake area, so the Church instituted a policy to provide for their support whereby, when a young man married and his bride's mother was a widow, he was to marry her also so that she might be taken care of. At this time Charlotte Alvord was assumed to be a widow, and this is why Peter Mack ELLIOTT was married to both the mother and daughter on the same day. His marriage to Charlotte ALVORD was cancelled 26 SEP 1861.
He married (3) Eliza Maria IVIE about January or February 1878. It is not now known where they were married as the law, which required a marriage license did not go into effect in Utah until 1887 or 1888. Their only child, Theda Ann Elliott was born November 16, 1879 at Salem, Utah and blessed in that ward 4 MAR 1880. Peter and Maria seem to have separated about the time Theda was born.
He lived in Thistle, Utah. He had part ownership of a mine, which had many legal battles. He died on 31 October 1885 in Spanish Fork canyon, in Utah County, Utah from falling off a rock. It has been suggested that in all probability he was pushed from the rock over the ownership of the mine.
He was buried in the Spanish Fork Cemetery. He apparently had a fairly large estate by this time, since his daughter Harriett received $800 from its settlement.

WIFE (3):
Eliza Marie (Maria) IVIE. (IVEY).
Born 29 MAR 1842 at Florida, Monroe County, Missouri.; daughter of James N.(R) Ivie and Eliza M. Fawcett. Eliza Marie (Maria) became a polygamist wife of Warren FOOTE on March 2,1856, when they were married by Brigham Young in his office in Salt Lake City. Maria turned fourteen years old twenty-seven days later and Warren was about thirty-nine years old. They had a falling out and she left him in DEC 1876.
Maria married (2) Peter Mack Elliott about January or February 1878. Their only child, Theda Ann Elliott was born November 16, 1879 at Salem, Utah and blessed in that ward March 4, 1880. Peter and Maria seem to have separated about the time Theda was born. Sometime after Maria and Peter Elliott separated Maria took up with and began living with Henry Orson Davis in Salem. His wife had died in 1878 leaving him with two young daughters. Orson, as he was called, and Maria were never married. The church leaders tried to get them to clean up their lives but were not successful. So on April 11, 1881 they were excommunicated from the church. In the fall of 1881 she and Orson moved to Muddy Creek in Castle Valley in Emery County. She and Orson seem to have soon separated. Sometime in the spring of 1888 Maria and her four young children, her son Charles, and her daughter Olive and husband Oscar Beebe and their children moved form Muddy Creek over the mountain and seem to have settled on the Sevier River in the Vermillion area. Probably in late June, Charles and Maria and her four young children loaded their belongings on a wagon and drove back over the mountain to Muddy Creek. Here Franklin hitched his team along with Charles' team to Charles' wagon and he joined them on their journey out through Nine Mile Canyon and to Myton and then on to Jensen, Utah, which is on the Green River, some 20 miles south and east of Vernal. They stayed in Jensen that winter and the next summer, but in the fall they decided to move back to the Vermillion area. So in about September 1890 they sold their property and started on the long and tiresome trip back to the Sevier River. In the spring or early summer of 1892, Oscar and Olive and their children and Charles and Maria and her children all probably moved back over the mountain to what was the new town of Emery. Maria was rebaptized back into the church. Apparently she and Orson Davis were reunited later.
