Jan Laurian Van de BOGART

HUSBAND:
[F7994]. Jan Laurian (Louen, Louwe) Van De BOGART.
Born in 1630 in Schooderweirt (Schoenderwoert), Holland; son of Laurens Thonis Van de BOGERT [F15988].
He married Cornelia EVERTSE [7995] in 1655 . He and his wife and two children aged 7 and 4 came from Schoonderwoerd, South Holland in the ship Spotted Cow or Brindled Cow in 16 APR 1663. The ship embarking from Amsterdam, with John Bergen as ships master. In the same ship were several French refugees from Mannheim, in the Palatinate. Jan had a kinsman, Theunis Geysbert Bogert, of Heykoop (two miles northwest of Schoenderwoert), who had already been ten years in America. After arriving in New Amsterdam, he resided first in Bedford, Long Island. On 6 SEP 1761 (1671 ?) he and his wife made a joint will at Harlem, where they expected to move, which they did shortly afterward. They gave to the poor of New Harlem the sum of ten guilders as a memorial. They made Johannes Pieterson Verbrugge and Teunis Geysberts Bogert as executors. (Riker's Harlem). He died in New York.

[F7995]. Cornelia EVERTSE (EVARTS, EVERTS).
Born about 1629 in Holland. She married in 1655 to Jan Laurian Van De BOGART [F7994]. She died in New York.

CHILDREN of Jan Laurian Van De BOGART [F7994] and Cornelia EVERTSE [F7995]:
  1. Pieter Van de BOGAERT. Born in 1656 in Leerdam, Holland. He married on 29 SEP 1686 to Feytje VLIERBOON, dau. of Mattys VLIERBOOM. He resided in Harlem, New York. he served as a soldier under Leisler in holding the fort at New York in 1689-90/ In 1717 he was paid for grms given up in 1691 to the new government.
  2. Guysbert Van de BOGAERT. Born in 1663 at Bedford, Long Island. He married Annetie JANSEN, dau. of Laurens JANSEN and Annetje JANS. He moved from Harlem to Tappan, where he bought lands on 6 OCT 1707. He was living on his farm on the Sparkill in 1729.
  3. Claas Van de BOGAERT. Born in 1668 at Bedford, Long Island. He married (1) on 28 JUN 1695 to Beeltje Van SCHAICK, dau. of Hendrick C. Van SCHAICK. He married (2) on 23 FEB 1707 to Margariet (Grietje) CONSELYEA, widow of John Van TILBURG. His will was dated 17 SEP 1726. It mentions his second wife Grietje, and the eight children living at the time. He died 5 JAN 1727.
  4. Johannes Van de BOGAERT. He died young.
  5. [F3997]. Elizabeth (Lysbeth) Janse VAN DER BOGERT. She married ? [F3996].
  6. Catharina Van de BOGAERT. She married Elbert HARMENSE of New York.
  7. Greetje (Margaret) Van de BOGAERT. She married on 4 DEC 1678 to Pieter Jansen HARING.
  8. Cornelia Van de BOGAERT. She married 4 OCT 1696 to Wouter QUACKENBUSH of Albany, New York.
  9. Janneke Van de BOGAERT. She married 8 JUL 1704 to Joris (Gregory) HOLMES.
  10. Johannes Van de BOGAERT. Born 16 AUG 1679. He married 16 JUN 1700 to Claasje Van SCHAICK. They had no children. He made a will on 9 JUN 1717. leaving his estate to his wife Claasje and to Jan, Cornelis and Hendrick, children of his brother Claas, by his first wife, Beeltje. His widow married (2) Jan de GRAFF. Johannes died in 1717.
