Born 4 APR 1218; son of Thomas BERKELEY and Joan de SOMERY. He was of Berkeley, Gloucester, England He was called “The Resolute.” He was 6th Lord BERKELEY. He married Isabel de Croun FITZROY [F118609921] about 12 JUL 1247. He died 4 APR 1281.

Born in 1223; daughter of Richard FITZROY and Rohese. She was of Lincoln, England.

This is just another reason for not paying any attention to anything that Alison Weir says. She does not do her home work!

Compton Reade mentions the Isabell of Cornwall issue in his _House of Cornwall_. She was allegedly one of the illegitimate children of Richard Earl of Cornwall. She doesn't exist.

I believe that you will find that she is Isabel de Craon. Unfortunately, I can't find my copy of the material on this. If I find it, I will post again. Sorry :-(

Isabel married Maurice de BERKELEY [F118609920] about 12 JUL 1247. She died 7 JUL 1276.

CHILDREN of Maurice de BERKELEY [F118609920] and Isabel [F118609920]:
  1. Thomas de BERKELEY. Born about 1245. He was of Castle Berkeley, Gloucester, England. He married Joan de FERRERS. He died on 23 July 1321 at St Augustines Ab, Bristol, Gloucester, England.
